Park Brothers

The Park Brothers came together as a guitar duo studying under one of the world’s preeminent guitar virtuosos of the classical guitar, Christopher Parkening. The duo’s virtuosic technique combined with expressive artistry have captivated and delighted audiences as far away as Montreal, Canada and Heidelberg, Germany. The brothers enjoy collaborating and working together, as they complement each other with a natural synergy of sounds, bringing enchantment and enjoyment back to classical music.

Park Brothers

Originally starting as a duo on the piano, the Park Brothers transformed into a duo on two guitars. Both Alex and Wesley Park started their music education on the piano at an early age, then began their guitar studies in their teen years. They both studied classical guitar at Pepperdine University under Christopher Parkening, celebrated as one of the world’s preeminent virtuosos of the classical guitar, and they came together as a guitar duo. The brothers enjoy collaborating and working together, as they complement each other with a natural synergy of sounds.

The Park Brothers have performed together as far away as Canada, Austria, and Germany. Together, they are the recipient of the USC Thornton Ensemble Award for making a significant contribution to upholding the long tradition of guitar ensemble excellence. They also performed at a tribute concert honoring the great Spanish guitarist Andrés Segovia alongside the Grammy Award winning artists, the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet and Andrew York in 2019. They have participated in masterclasses from Christopher Parkening, Angel Romero, Andrew York, Jason Vieaux, Scott Tennant, Jubilant Sykes, and Meng Su.  In the 2014 Pacific Guitar Competition in Monrovia, CA, they placed as a finalist in the chamber mixed division category. The Park Brothers guitar duo are signed under Jean Schreiber Management.

Alex Park

Alex Park is an acclaimed international concert guitarist engaged as a soloist and collaborator throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. He received the First Place Award in the Thomas M. Osborn Concerto Competition and was a Prizewinner of the Parkening International Guitar Competition, Miami GuitArt International Competition, the Philadelphia Classical Guitar, and Lee Ritenour's Six String Theory Competitions. In 2019, Alex released his debut album, Classical Guitar, receiving positive reviews from critics and press. classical Guitar Magazine wrote the album is "Fantastic!" and Fanfare wrote, "a winning combination of technical assurance, versatility, and interpretive finesse."

Alex received his Bachelor of Arts from Pepperdine University studying under one of the world's preeminent virtuosos of the classical guitar, Christopher Parkening, and he prepared his Master of Music degree with Andrew York at California State University Fullerton. He is currently working on his Doctorate of Musical Arts with Adam del Monte and Scott Tennant at University of Southern California and had the opportunity to coach with Brian Head and two members of the "Royal Family of the Guitar," Pepe and Angel Romero.

Wesley Park

Wesley Park is a concert classical guitarist and educator from the Los Angeles area. With his colorful playing and enjoyable programs, he has played professional concerts internationally in many countries. He is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Music at Pepperdine University teaching guitar as well as music history courses. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Pepperdine University studying under the preeminent guitar virtuoso, Christopher Parkening, and received a Master's Degree in Music from the University of Southern California studying under Scott Tennant of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet. When not engaged in musical activities, Wesley also enjoys surfing, trying out new restaurants, and participating in the devotional activities at his church, Citizens LA.
